(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Gu Ye-ji = Korea Philip Morris announced on the 19th that it will join hands with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to promote the discovery of households in crisis in blind spots of welfare.

It is the first in the industry to participate in social contribution activities promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This is because we intend to fulfill our social responsibility as a corporate citizen who directly carries out all processes from manufacturing, distributing, and selling cigarettes domestically.

With this agreement, Korea Philip Morris will promote its products by inserting promotional text on digital billboards in approximately 1,400 convenience stores nationwide and on the inside of cigarette packs, including Teria.

The purpose is to inform neighbors who are facing social and economic difficulties that they can receive comprehensive counseling as well as customized support such as emergency welfare support and support for daily necessities at the Health and Welfare Counseling Center, local government town/district office, or neighborhood community center.

Convenience store advertisement boards will be put up starting from this day, and from October, promotional texts to help rescue at-risk households will be attached to the inside of cigarette packs of four representative products, including Teria.

Starting in January next year, the promotional text will be applied to the inside of all cigarette packs of Philip Morris Korea.

To this end, a ‘crisis household discovery and publicity’ agreement ceremony was held between the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Korea Philip Morris at the Korea Philip Morris headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the 19th.

Yoon Hee-kyung, CEO of Philip Morris Korea, and Koo Bon-geun, head of the Smart Welfare Safety Community Promotion Team at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, attended the signing ceremony and pledged to cooperate in promoting and supporting the discovery and support of crisis households.

Yoon Hee-kyung, CEO of Philip Morris Korea, said, “This agreement is very meaningful as it allows us to work with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to reveal blind spots in our society and participate in the promotion of identifying at-risk households.” He added, “As a corporate citizen, Philip Morris Korea will continue to pay attention to places in need around us and make continuous contributions.”
