(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Park Yoon-seo = KT Wiz’s Bae Jeong-dae hit a dramatic grand slam to save his team from a crisis.

Bae Jeong-dae started as the 6th batter and center fielder in the away game against Kiwoom Heroes in the ‘2024 Shinhan Sol Bank KBO League’ held at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 18th, recording 1 hit, 1 home run, and 6 RBIs in 4 at-bats.

Bae Jeong-dae’s home run was full of nutrients. In the bottom of the ninth inning, with two outs and bases loaded, Bae Jeong-dae hit a game-tying grand slam over the left-center field fence off pitcher Kim Seong-min’s changeup.

KT, who brought the game back to square one with this home run, scored a total of 4 runs, including a 2-run home run by Moon Sang-cheol in the top of the 10th inning, to win the game 12-8.

After the game, Bae Jeong-dae said, “I feel good that I helped the team win a game with a grand slam today,” and “I went up to the plate aiming for a changeup. I think I didn’t miss the wild pitches, which led to a good result.”

Even though they were down 0-8 through the 7th inning and seemed destined to lose, KT didn’t seem to care much. Bae Jeong-dae, who looked back on the game, said, “The score gap was large at the beginning of the game, but the team spirit was not bad.
