KT&G Sangsang Unive holds ‘Sangsang Blue Pavilion’ upcycling sculpture exhibition < Distribution < Article text

KT&G (CEO Bang Kyeong-man) announced that it will exhibit the excellent works selected in the ‘2024 Sangsang Blue Pavilion’ contest, which produces sculptures by recycling local waste, at the KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan Gallery from October 20th to 27th.

‘Sangsang Blue Pavilion’ is a program first introduced last year by ‘Sangsang Unive’, a university student participation platform operated by KT&G, and was designed to raise awareness of the seriousness of environmental pollution and the message of environmental conservation.

236 teams of college and graduate students from across the country participated in this year’s idea contest under the theme ‘Dreamweave: Dreams we create together,’ and 18 final teams were selected after a design screening and presentation contest. Afterwards, the selected teams were given the opportunity to create actual sculptures through expert mentoring.

The works on display this time were created as sculptures using waste tires, steel structures, and discarded banners, and the sculptures dismantled after the exhibition ends will be recycled as materials for future upcycling works.
