Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived today for a three-day visit to Beijing, where he will discuss peace in Ukraine with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
He pointed out that extensive, detailed, meaningful talks with Wang Ji about the path to a just peace are expected, reports Ukrinform.
– We must avoid competition between peace plans. It is very important that Kyiv and Beijing enter into a direct dialogue and exchange of views – the minister emphasized.
Kuleba added that the two sides will also discuss bilateral relations and expressed his belief that after the start of Ukraine’s negotiations on joining the European Union, China should look at relations with Ukraine through the prism of its strategic relations with Europe.
This is his first visit to Beijing since the beginning of the Russian invasion, and the goal is to develop relations between the leaders of Ukraine and China, Vladimir Zelensky and Xi Jinping.
Kuleba will stay in Beijing until Thursday, where he came at the invitation of Wang Ji.
