Baobab is the name of the assembly that The Children and Youth Show Network in Martorell has scheduled for this Sunday, December 1 at 12.00 pm at the Teatre d’El Progrés. Created by the Company The Lemon Pearthe work honors all those displaced in the world due to some war conflict. It is included in the quarterly subscription, but tickets can also be purchased at the box office and onlineat 6 euros for adults, 3 for children up to 12 years old and free for children under 3.

Baobab is one of the shows of this theater company with more than 30 years of dedication behind it, and which likes to do “a theatrical game of jesters, clowns and minstrels, marking their own style and promoting shows that tell stories to excite and to laugh, puns that accompany the gesture, objects that are reinvented and a harmonious and suggestive scenography”, as they present themselves.

The assembly is headed by the slogan “When war makes you leave your home and your land, you need the welcome of those who will receive you”. As detailed by La Xarxa’s communications manager, Cristina Ramírez, “it’s about two street vendors who, taking refuge from a great storm, tell the story of a mushroom and a squirrel, who, due to the war, embark on a great adventure to find a new tree to live in”. A variety of bags and shoes of different sizes and colors “give life to people who, in order to survive, are encouraged to look for a new place to settle. We will be able to feel sadness and cruelty, but above all courage, mixed with a lot of humor”, announces Ramírez.
