Lab Eleven is another company that offers restomod examples of the Porsche 911 (primarily from the 993 generation). Although the headquarters of the company is in Austria, the main facility where everything is realized is located near Milan, Italy.
Some body panels such as bumpers, front fenders, doors and hoods can be replaced with aluminum, magnesium or carbon fiber parts. The new panels are true to factory spec tolerances to maintain the OEM look.
After the body refresh, the car is painted in one of 100+ original Porsche colors, some of which have their roots in the 356 era. Alternatively, there are over 200 additional colors to choose from.
Italian expertise is evident inside where the cars get the retro treatment with fabrics and leathers of European origin.
The car also gets a modern infotainment system that fits in with the rest of the dashboard.
As for mechanics, engines are not rebuilt in Italy. Instead, they are sent to a German partner in Baden-Württemberg, near Stuttgart. This is where most of the parts are reworked. The six-speed manual transmission goes through the same process.
Depending on what the customer wants, the six-cylinder engine is offered in volumes of 3.6, 3.8 and 4.0L with a power of 300 to 400 HP.
The standard SportTouren version is offered alongside the more powerful Sportwagen edition, both available as a coupe or targa. There’s also Project Rennen as a track-focused derivative inspired by the classic 911 R from 1967.
All in all, almost 4,000 hours of work went into each car.
