A new giant bottling plant. The Orléans group LSDH took delivery in April of L’Abeille, a 56,000 m2 site in Mazières-en-Mauges (Maine-et-Loire).
This should gradually replace the Cholet plant (165 employees), which had become too small, and will double the company’s beverage production, 90% of which are sold under private label, for an investment of €200 million. The transfer of the activity has been taking place gradually since the arrival of logistics in April 2023. Two milk packaging lines are currently being set up, with two more to follow in 2025. L’Abeille should be able to produce 100 million litres of milk annually.
As for the relocation of the five still and carbonated beverage lines from the historic site, it will begin in a year. In 2027, the site will have nine operational lines, with 250 employees, for a production capacity of 380 million bottles and cartons. It will still have space to install four additional lines. The final shutdown of the historic site is scheduled for 2026.
