The L1 laboratory, as the largest and most active classroom of the Computer Center of the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN), is in operation every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., including Saturdays. It is of key importance for the training of students in all majors, especially in the lower years of studies in the fields of programming, animation, construction and geodesy, where students work on modern software that requires a high level of technological support. Schneider Electric’s donation made it possible to install the most modern equipment that provides students with optimal working conditions, which is of crucial importance for raising the quality of teaching and practical training.
Director of the Development Center of Schneider Electric in Novi Sad, Dragoljub Damljanović, emphasized the openness of the Faculty of Technical Sciences for the application of new technologies and cooperation with the economic sector. “The key to the success of our business is the quality engineers who work for us, and that is why we are always here to help FTN maintain the quality of education. We are lucky that FTN is focused on the application of new technologies in practice, which means a lot to everyone. Our success largely depends on the quality and education of the students from this faculty who get a job with us after their studies. Schneider annually employs between 50 and 100 engineers in Serbia, high-quality staff who come from FTN. We are grateful to the dean and professors who are ready to improve and educate young people in the field of new technologies, so that when they come to Schneider, they will be successful in joint work”, Damljanović stressed.
Dean of FTN, prof. Boris Dumnić, Ph.D., expressed his special gratitude to Schneider Electric and everyone who contributed to this project. “As part of our long-term and successful cooperation, this is just another indicator that without investment in quality staff and education, there are no quality companies and businesses. This means a lot to us because this is the largest computer laboratory in terms of the number of seats, so with its renovation, we rounded off the renovation of all the laboratories of the Computer Center. “Our students now have the opportunity to study on new and modern equipment the subjects on which they will later build their careers, which indicates that without appropriate hardware and software support, there is no quality investment in education,” said Dumnić.
By renovating this laboratory, the Faculty of Technical Sciences significantly improved the quality of education and practical training for its students. The donation from the Schneider Electric company not only provides a modern environment for work and learning, but additionally strengthens the cooperation between the academic and business sectors, which has a positive effect on the development of experts ready for the modern labor market.
