Lack of men at the front leads agents to carry out raids to recruit soldiers – War in Ukraine

The lack of men at the front led agents to carry out raids in several Ukrainian cities, including Kiev, looking for Ukrainians not registered for military conscription.

The agents invaded restaurants, bars, a shopping mall and a concert hall in the capital and arrested the men who did not have military registration documents. All Ukrainian men between the ages of 25 and 60 can be conscripted and men between the ages of 18 and 60 cannot leave the country.

Two and a half years of Russian offensive decimated many Ukrainian units. As the war drags on and to make up for a shortage of soldiers, Ukraine released thousands of prisoners in the summer to fight on the front line. Kiev also adopted a new law that stipulates that anyone eligible for military service must enter their information into a system, otherwise they will face sanctions.

However, on Saturday night, Russia carried out a massive air strike in the city of Sumy, in Eastern Ukraine, hitting a residential neighborhood. Apparently, there are no reports of casualties, as residents of the frontline areas in the Sumy region had already been evacuated.
