LAMDA Development | They welcomed the Olympic Flame –

The Olympic Museum of Athens, which is housed inside the shopping center Golden Hall and was created by Lamda Development with the aim of promoting the principles and values ​​of Olympism, had the great honor of being included in the journey of the Olympic Flame from Ancient Olympia to Paris.

In a low-key, highly symbolic ceremony held on Saturday, April 20, the Olympic Museum of Athens joined as part of the Olympic Torch Relay of XXXIII Olympic Games “PARIS 2024”, conveying the powerful and timeless symbolism of the Olympic Flame.

Promoting the relationship between Sports and Culture, the Reception Ceremony of the Olympic Flame began with 6 Kouros, in an impressive music and dance event, which signed by the Official Choreographer of the ceremony of Touching and Handing over the Olympic Flame, Artemis Ignatiou. The Gold Medalist and ambassador of the Olympic Museum of Athens, Nikolas Kaklamanakis, the last torchbearer in the Olympic Games “ATHENS 2004”, carried the Olympic Torch to the Ceremony site and lit the altar. This was followed by the rendition of the Olympic Anthem, as well as the National Anthem of France by the children’s choir of the Hellenic-French School of Athens “Saint Paul” and the National Anthem of Greece by the children’s choir of Douka Schools.

In their greetings, the CEO of Lamda Development, Odysseas Athanassiou, the Ambassador of France, Laurence Auer, the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Spyros Kapralos and the President of the Olympic Torch Relay Committee, referred to the high symbolism of the reception of the Olympic flame and the Olympic Torch Relay. The Ceremony ended with the Olympic Flame being handed over to OAKA, so that it could continue its journey.

Personalities from the fields of politics, culture, sports, Olympians, representatives of the local government, as well as the entire leadership of the Hellenic Olympic Committee honored the ceremony with their presence.

Sealing the importance of the day, Nikolas Kaklamanakis held at Olympic Museum of Athens speaking about the path of “From Dream to Sport”, drawing knowledge and experiences from his personal journey.
