Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF: the racing car is revealed
After the launch of the new generation of the Lancia Ypsilon, the Italian manufacturer, in collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport, unveiled its competition versioncalled Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF.
Intended for rally competitions, the Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF is powered by a 212 horsepower 1.2 Turbo (PureTech) three-cylinder enginetransmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. It is also equipped with 330 mm ventilated disc brakes at the front, as well as McPherson suspension and Ohlin shock absorbers adjustable in three directions.
The Ypsilon Rally 4 HF is aimed in particular at young pilots who want to make a name for themselves through Rally category 4but also the “Trofeo Lancia Rally” which will take place over six rounds of the 2025 Italian Rally Championship, with rewards per event and at the end of the season amounting to around €300,000. The winner of this trophy will then be able to join the official Lancia Corse HF team in the 2026 European Rally Championship.
Lancia Ypsilon HF: a 100% electric production version
The Italian firm has great ambitions for its relaunch, and has also announced the arrival of a standard sports version of his new city car: the Lancia Ypsilon HF. With such a Rally 4 HF racing version, this would have augured an interesting production thermal sports car, but this is not the case. In fact, the Stellantis group preferred to develop a 100% electric motorization of 280 horsepowerwhich is also found on the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce or the Abarth 600e.
Its technical sheet is however interesting, including acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, lowered suspensions, widened tracks as well as a more muscular and assertive body kit.
To develop these two models, Lancia called on Miki BiasionWorld Rally Champion with Lancia in the 1980s to 90s and the most successful Italian driver in history: “If you dreamed of a circuit when you were a child, you dreamed of the red of a Ferrari. But if you dreamed of becoming a rally driver, you dreamed of Lancia. I am honored to have worked with the Lancia and Stellantis Motorsport teams to develop the Ypsilon HF and Ypsilon Rally 4 HF. Lancia’s heritage of victories and racing is back and I’m happy to be part of it.”he declared on this occasion.
The Lancia Ypsilon HF will be marketed at spring 2025. For the competition version, orders for the Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF are already open, at the price of 74.500 €.
