Lane keeping will be much easier when using Android Car Google Maps –

The redesigned user interface will make it easier to read information.

A small but significant change has been made to the Google Maps app for Android Car, making it much easier to find and follow the right lanes in the future. The relevant user interface has been given a wider design, which enables easier and faster reading of the information.

The change was necessary primarily because the previous interface of Android Auto proved to be a bit cramped: the lanes often overlapped each other, making it difficult to read the data. Drivers had to pay much more attention to identifying the correct lanes, which could distract them from driving, increasing the risk of accidents.

The updated design completely overcomes this problem and displays all available bars in the upper left corner of the navigation interface. As you can see in the image below, the correct lane is highlighted in white, while the others are dimmed.

The new lane guidance design has already started rolling out to users; in principle, it will arrive on all devices in the coming days.
