In recent weeks, there have been a lot of reports suggesting the introduction of a thin iPhone next year.
The latest information on this topic appeared in The Independent. According to Wayne Ma, the thickness of this model will be between 5 and 6 millimeters, making it the thinnest iPhone ever. For comparison, the thickness of the 16 PRo model is 8.25 mm.
Unfortunately, due to its size, Apple is forced to make some modifications. The new model will feature a single speaker, no SIM tray and will also be equipped with a proprietary 5G network module. Unfortunately, it will not support mmWave and will have slower data transmission. The battery is also expected to be reduced.
Interestingly, production tests are currently underway in Foxconn factories, because Apple is struggling with the problem of matching the appropriate size of the battery and other components to the too thin structure.
The design of the rear island will also change and it will be located in the middle.
