Leapmotor C10: affordable electric SUV still more expensive

Earlier this month, AutoWeek exclusively obtained the prices of the first two electric models that the Chinese brand Leapmotor is bringing to the European market with the help of Stellantis: the T03 and the C10. The Leapmotor T03 is almost the cheapest new electric car in the Netherlands purely in terms of starting price, but has an edge over the slightly cheaper Dacia Spring in terms of equipment. And the Leapmotor C10? That too is a relative price grabber. That electric SUV is namely larger than, say, a Volkswagen ID4 and Peugeot e-3008, but is comparable in price to a smaller e-2008. Even before its Dutch market introduction, the prices of the Leapmotor C10 have been adjusted upwards. The Leapmotor C10 was previously expected to cost €37,400 in the Style version and would change owners from €38,900 as a more richly equipped Style. The prices of both variants will increase by €1,600. This gives the Leapmotor C10 in Style trim a new starting price of €39,000. As a more generously endowed Design, the C10 now costs €40,500. The price increase goes hand in hand with an important change. For example, the Leapmotor C10 now has an 11 kW on-board charger as standard. A frunk and a cover for the luggage compartment are also now part of the standard equipment. With both versions, you are also eligible for SEPP purchase subsidy. Leapmotor C10 Regardless of the version chosen, the Leapmotor C10 has a 69.9 kWh battery and a 218 hp electric motor. This combination gives the 4.74-metre-long electric SUV a range of 420 kilometres. The basic Style version offers, among other things, climate control separated by two zones, an electrically adjustable front seat, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a heat pump, an extensive audio system with twelve speakers, a panoramic glass roof, an induction charger, 18-inch light alloy wheels and a 14.6-inch infotainment system with navigation. The Design adds artificial leather upholstery, extensive mood lighting, 20-inch wheels, an electrically opening and closing tailgate, heated and ventilated front seats and privacy glass. In addition, the Design’s rear light section lights up across the entire width of the rear.
