The Left Bloc (BE) wants equal pay between men and women in sport in Portugal. Speaking to Jornal Expresso, deputy Joana Mortágua highlighted that it was “intolerable that to do exactly the same thing, to represent the same country, in the same sport, in the same competition, men are paid much better than women”.
O Express It also adds that the party presented a proposal to change the State Budget (OE) to put an end to the disparity in remuneration between athletes who represent, above all, the Portuguese national teams.
