Leica Geosystems launches the GS05 – a new smart GNSS antenna, lightweight and with tilt compensation

Intergeo, the world’s leading trade fair for geospatial solutions, took place in Stuttgart on September 26, 2024.

At the show, Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, presented their new Leica GS05 – a smart and lightweight tilt-compensated GNSS antenna designed to make data collection both simpler and more efficient.

With a weight of only 0.75 kg including the battery, daily measuring work becomes less demanding, while a robust design ensures both durability and reliability in the field.

The tilt compensation, of up to 30 degrees, requires no calibration and allows high precision to be achieved without the plumb rod having to be completely vertical, making work efficient and easier to do, especially in hard-to-reach places.

“The Leica GS05 makes measurement more efficient and less physically demanding. Given the growing need for geospatial services, the industry needs smarter solutions, not heavier ones.

In this news, we integrate several of Leica Geosystems’ innovations into one device, resulting in precision, versatility and ease of use,” says Bernhard Richter, Vice President Product Management Geomatics at Leica Geosystems.

The Leica GS05 includes a number of features such as 4G, UHF radio, an internal battery with 10 hours of life and tilt compensation.

It integrates seamlessly with the Leica Geosystems portfolio, including Leica Captivate field software. The Leica GS05 also works together with Leica total stations as an efficient SmartPole.

Integration with Leica Geosystems existing equipment and users’ work processes further optimize efficiency.

We offer our customers complete and innovative solutions within several industries. There is a strong team of skilled and qualified employees ready to support and service our customers throughout the country. In Denmark, we have offices in Søborg and Odense, the latter of which also includes one of our factories. Many of our own products are manufactured and developed here, which are subsequently distributed to Leica Geosystems departments in the rest of the world.
