Lenovo becomes FIFA’s official technology partner

After becoming a global partner of the Formula 1 world championship, Lenovo and FIFA announced, at the annual Lenovo Tech World event dedicated to innovation, a partnership through which the multinational company becomes an Official Technology Partner of FIFA – FIFA’s main sponsorship category – which includes the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Through the two tournaments, Lenovo has the opportunity to strengthen its image among fans of the most popular sport globally. Moreover, Lenovo will provide integrated and innovative technologies that will make this sport easier for everyone to access and make it more attractive, thus helping to promote football around the world.

The 2026 and 2027 world tours will use Lenovo products, services and solutions, including the suite of innovations that leverage and use artificial intelligence (AI), ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola phones and servers. The technology will improve the fan experience in stadiums and global broadcasts, improve data analysis and facilitate access to it for all countries involved in football worldwide.

About FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring together 48 teams and be hosted by three countries for the first time in history. The tournament will return to the US after the 24-team edition in 1994, and the 2026 competition will be hosted by Mexico for the third time. Canada has a long tradition of hosting top FIFA women’s and youth tournaments, including the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The 2026 FIFA senior men’s tournament will be held in Canada for the first time.

The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be the tenth edition of the tournament and, like Australia and New Zealand in 2023, will feature 32 teams. Brazil, a participant in every FIFA Women’s World Cup in history, will have the honor of hosting the first FIFA Women’s World Cup ever held in South America.
