Lenovo announced at CES 2025 the latest devices, accessories and software solutions in the Lenovo Legion gaming ecosystem, among which the new portable consoles in the Legion Go S range are highlighted.
Lenovo Legion Go family expands
The new Lenovo Legion Go S (8″) device is a portable console with Windows operating system, described as “the ideal choice for gamers who want to enjoy their favorite games anywhere”. With an 8″ WUXGA 16:10 PureSight touch display with 120Hz refresh rate, AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor (exclusive to Legion Go) or AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X2 RAM at 7500MHz and a battery with 3 55.5Whr cells, the new Legion Go S (8”) is built for PC gaming in a portable package of just 730g, ideal for use on the plane, train, car or anywhere else.
Wi-Fi 6e compatibility, a pair of USB 4 ports on the top and a microSD card reader make it easy to connect a display and other peripherals, making the Lenovo Legion Go S (8”) a modular device capable of supporting gaming tasks of a desktop when the user is not on the move.
Also available is the first officially licensed portable device – Lenovo Legion Go S (8”) – Powered by SteamOS. Combining the powerful features of the Lenovo Legion Go S (8”) with the flexibility and console-like experience, SteamOS, Valve’s operating system, is streamlined and optimized for gaming. With cloud storage for a seamless transition between PC and handheld gaming, Remote Play to stream PC games, full access to the Steam Store and Steam library, the Legion Go S (8”) equipped with SteamOS is a step forward in providing freedom of choice for gamers who want an operating system optimized for portable gaming.
Lenovo presents the Lenovo Legion Go prototype (8.8″)
The first-generation Lenovo Legion Go, presented at IFA 2023, set a new standard for portable gaming, acclaimed for its 8.8” screen, detachable TrueStrike controllers, rugged kickstand and dual USB Type-C ports. This year, Lenovo introduces the Lenovo Legion Go Prototype (8.8”), with innovations inspired by feedback from Legion fans and incorporating their most requested features. The prototype is equipped with the new AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with RDNA 3.5 graphics and up to 32 GB of 7500 MHz LPDDR5X RAM2, and features an 8.8″ 16:10 aspect ratio native PureSight OLED touch screen in landscape format , 144 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

Lenovo Legion Go S Screen Protectors
Lenovo Legion screen protectors that fit the new Go S console (8″) feature 9H hardness glass with high transparency that protects the screen from scratches and drops while maintaining the natural touch screen feel at only 0 .45 mm.
Availability and prices
The Lenovo Legion Go S (8″) will be available from January 2025, with an estimated starting price of 629 euros (VAT included).
The Lenovo Legion Go S (8″) powered by SteamOS will be available from April 2025, with a starting price to be announced soon.
