Lenovo Tab Plus / The best sound we’ve heard on a tablet

First of all, a side view of the relatively large oblong speaker slots and then the unusually high-quality sound for a tablet of this size reveal the purpose of this model for multimedia entertainment. The credit for the quality sound goes to two pairs of treble and two pairs of mid-bass JBL acoustic transducers, while these transducers have a volume of 22 cm³ and a musical power of 26 W.

This data should be taken with a big margin, it refers to short spikes, for example, hitting a drum. In this case too, of course, the “something for something” principle applies, so the tablet is thicker at the bottom and a little heavier. In the middle of this part there is also a practical tilting stand that you can adjust to the desired angle. When using it outdoors, for example on vacation, it should be noted that the tablet is resistant to dust and water only at the IP52 specification level. The aluminum body is robust enough to withstand rough handling, such as when used by children. If you do not get a case for the tablet, I recommend sticking a protective film on the display. The designers of the tablet were aware of the sound quality, so they also implemented the possibility of playing sound from other devices. In this mode, the tablet works as a bluetooth speaker. It is very practical because you don’t need to copy the multimedia files to the tablet, but you can play them directly from the smartphone on the tablet with good sound. Dolby Atmos technology is also supported. More demanding listeners can listen to Hi-Res music in 24 bit/96 kHz quality through headphones. Lenovo Tab Plus has an 11.5-inch LCD display with a 2K resolution, namely 2000 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a brightness of 400 nits. Implicitly, the display uses a variable refresh rate adapted to the currently displayed content to save energy. The brightness of the display is quite sufficient for viewing in the shade. The image has true colors, but in terms of contrast, it cannot compete with OLED displays. The heart of the tablet is the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which has 8 GB of RAM and a storage space of 256 GB. A microSD card slot is also available to the user. Performance is sufficient for common applications, surfing, watching videos. You may need to lower the resolution or detail level when playing more demanding games.

According to the manufacturer, the battery with a capacity of 8600 mAh should enable 12 hours of multimedia playback. Actual battery life, of course, depends on the display brightness and audio volume settings. The tablet supports charging with a power of 45 W. There is an 8 Mpx camera on the front and back, while the rear one has automatic focus. The quality, similar to the cameras of other tablets of this price class, is sufficient for ordinary and documentary purposes, or for video conferences. Video is supported in 1080p resolution.

The tablet uses Android 14, while the manufacturer guarantees two years of updates and four years of security patches. If you want to write by hand or draw on the tablet, you can purchase the Tab Pen Plus stylus. The wireless keyboard elevates the Lenovo Tab Plus to an occasional work tool.
