The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14 is a new 14-inch ultrabook that comes in different configurations to meet the needs of different users. There’s also a choice between AMD and Intel processors, as well as dedicated NVIDIA graphics cards, including the latest mid-range GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop. This time we take a closer look at the 14 ARP8 variant, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7735U processor and an integrated Radeon 680M iGPU graphics card. This processor is based on the Zen 3+ (Rembrandt-R) chip, which appeared in some laptops last year. The reviewed model is equipped with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB NVMe SSD. The RAM is dual-channel, soldered on the board, and cannot be expanded. However, it is sufficient for the needs of an ultrabook.
The chassis of the device is completely aluminum and available in two colors: Storm Gray and Tidal Teal. The tested Storm Gray variant looks very decent and fits into any professional environment. The aluminum chassis looks premium and the materials are pleasant to the touch. Fingerprint issues are largely offset by the matte finish. The thin frame around the display determines a decent screen-to-body ratio of 83%. In the center of the upper part, an island with a camera system with Windows Hello support protrudes from the outline. The construction is extremely solid, the friction of the hinges is very well tuned, so there is only minimal vibration when adjusting the screen. The device is convertible, so the display can be rotated up to the tablet position, in which you can best use its touch control. The cover can be opened easily with one hand. The Yoga Pro 7 is slightly wider than its direct competitors, which is partly due to its slightly larger 14.5-inch display. It weighs 1477g, making it one of the heaviest models in the comparison, although the weight differences aren’t dramatic. This is due to the solid and durable construction. Overall, this model is still highly portable and can easily fit into most bags or backpacks.
Considering the category, the new Yoga Pro 7 surprises with wide connectivity. On the left side, you will find full-format HDMI 2.1, USB-C 4.0 (40 Gbit/s, DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4, Power Delivery 3.0), USB-C 3.2 Gen. 2 (10 Gbit/s, DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4, Power Delivery) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the left is USB-A 3.2 Gen. 1 (5 Gbit/s, with power), a microSD card reader and a power button. Wireless connectivity is provided by fast Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.3.
Above the display is a 1080p web camera equipped with an electronic shutter (eShutter). There is also an IR camera used for facial recognition in conjunction with Windows Hello.
The novelty comes with a very comfortable keyboard with 1.5 mm key travel. The keys are very quiet and not too hard, which contributes to an excellent typing feel, comparable to more expensive ThinkPad models. The keyboard also has a white backlight with two levels of brightness that can be turned on using the ambient light sensor. The large touchpad offers enough space to control the cursor and supports gestures with up to four fingers. The surface of the touchpad is smooth and easy to work with. The buttons on the bottom are not marked in any way, but they make a loud clicking sound.
In our case, the display is OLED, glossy and touch-sensitive, with a diagonal of 14.5″, an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels. It works with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The image quality is excellent, the image is sharp, with no signs of noise. The device can automatically adjust the brightness of the screen to the ambient light and this function works reliably. The latency is also very good.
Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14 is an excellent choice for those looking for a powerful and stylish ultrabook. With a premium design, an excellent keyboard and a high-quality display, it is ideal for professionals and students who need a reliable device for everyday work.
