Lenovo YOGA laptops have become a legend among users over time, and it’s no accident. They offer reliability and quality construction in combination with high performance and good durability. At the top of the current offer is the tested novelty Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16IMH9. If you’re a content creator and looking for a powerful 16″ laptop for everyday use, you’ll definitely reach for this beauty. You’ll be pleased to know that this model is thin and light and offers high performance for its comfortable size.
The configuration we had for the test includes Intel processor® Evo Editionwhich is the highest model Intel Meteor Lake processor for this laptop, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8GB GDDR6 graphics card and 64GB DDR5 RAM. Considering the powerful components, a sufficient amount of RAM and a relatively good price, this is definitely an interesting model.
The construction of the notebook is solid, although it occasionally creaks slightly when caught in a corner while opening. Handling is generally very good and I appreciated the rounded edges in all the places you normally hold. The entire notebook with a pressed chassis is made of aluminum. The matte sandblasted finish is consistent throughout the design and the color is dark grey. The top cover is smooth and flat, with the Lenovo logo in the bottom corner and the Yoga logo on the opposite end. The hinges are strong enough and hold the display well in any position. The keyboard is excellent, with 1.5 mm of key travel and concave keys that are very easy to press. The keyboard layout is standard, with plenty of useful multimedia keys and a two-level white backlight that can be controlled using the Fn – Space combination. Professional users will appreciate the long keyboard type with a separate number section. In the case of the tested variant, the display is a 16-inch IPS with a resolution of 3200 × 2000 px and a mini LED backlight. It handles the color gamut at 100% DCI-P3 level, the declared peak brightness is 1200 nits. The display has an anti-reflective surface that significantly reduces reflections from the surroundings, with perfect viewing angles. The hardware built on the latest generation Core i9 Meteor Lake processor with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics and fast 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage gives the laptop enough power to comfortably process 4K video, graphics, photos and other media. During testing, we processed 4K/60p 10-bit. video in professional Blackmagicdesign DaVinci Studio software. The work with the video took place even without the use of proxy files without problems and very smoothly. Synthetic tests also showed very good results. After work, it is not a problem to play even moderately demanding games. Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i offers rich connectivity including HDMI 2.1, USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, USB-A 3.2 and an SD card reader. The battery has a capacity of 84 Wh, which provides enough endurance for normal use, but for full performance you will need an external source.
The new addition to the YOGA product line continues the tradition and comes as an excellent solution for content creators as well as for everyday use. It brings an excellent display, a high-quality keyboard, high performance and excellent speakers. All this in a very nice and well-made body, moreover, at a seriously chosen price. So, if you are thinking about buying a high-quality work laptop that will not disappoint even when playing games or watching movies on the go, this model is definitely worth considering.
