Los reyes he fired from the sea to the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, which left this Saturday with Leonor on board and 75 other midshipmen, on the 97th training cruise of the brig-schooner sailing ship.
After a few moments of great emotion in which they watched the ship depart from the dock, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia have gone up to Navy Lookout to dismiss from the mar to his daughter and his fellow students.
The ship, which begins a six-month journey, has left the dock to the sound of the ‘Salve marinera’ and with Leonor and her other companions in formation waving their caps, while their relatives waved goodbye and blew them kisses.

The Royal House, which had shared some emotional photographs of the kings’ farewell to Leonor on board the ship, has published a video showing the moment in which Felipe VI and Letizia see Leonor for the last time in several months.
In the shared video you can see how Queen Letizia, who could not contain the emotion during the morning, nor has it done so at this time.
“Where is my girl?” he spontaneously asked King Felipe VI on the Vigía, while he watched the training ship enter the sea.
The queen, who knows that her daughter will be on the training ship for months and who had already been seen emotional on the ship and in the port, could not contain her tears again when she saw the ship from a distance.
Precisely, just before setting sail on the Vigía, the king confessed to journalists that the moment of farewell had been “very emotional logically.”
