The smallest Lexus model, the LBX, was shown at the tuner fair in Tokyo at the beginning of this year in a sports edition, but then only as a concept vehicle. Now, however, a serial model has arrived on the Japanese market.
Called the LBX Morizo RR, this car shows how the LBX can be transformed using the powertrain from the GR Yaris. Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda played a key role in the creation of this model and gave Lexus engineers the green light to create the ultimate LBX.
This means that the 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo engine with 224 kW/300 hp and 400 Nm, which also has the renewed GR Yaris, takes care of the drive. In addition, the LBX Morizo RR is also equipped with a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as four-wheel drive.
The 1440 kg LBX Morizo RR accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
As for the dimensions, the length is 4190 mm, the width is 1840 mm, the height is 1535 mm, and the wheelbase is 2580 mm.
Among the changes, the front fascia, tweaked front bumper, 19-inch alloy wheels, 235/45 R19 tires, stronger brakes, red brake calipers, different rear bumper, black diffuser and two exhaust pipes stand out.
Sports seats and aluminum pedals are provided for the modified interior.
Prices in Japan start at 6,500,000 yen (37,905 euros), while the “Bespoke Build” version with additional customization options costs 7,200,000 yen (41,985 euros). This latter special edition is limited to 100 units offered only through a lottery system. Deliveries to customers in Japan begin at the end of August.
