LG and RAZER present the first BLUETOOTH ULTRA-LOW LATENCY Technology

LG Electronics (LG) has partnered with Razer and MediaTek and is introducing the world’s first Bluetooth Ultra-Low Latency (BT ULL) Controller at the LG webOS Summit 2024 on September 27. This groundbreaking technology was showcased via an LG webOS smart TV and Razer’s Bluetooth gaming controller, showcasing the groundbreaking 1ms input lag.

The webOS summit, which welcomed 300 executives from 140 companies from 24 countries, shared LG’s strategic vision and future initiatives to expand its webOS business network and AI platform.

Razer, a leading global lifestyle company for gamers, has developed the first gaming controller with BT ULL technology. In the presentation LG and Razer compared a BT ULL-enabled Bluetooth game controller with a standard controller. The presentation highlighted the superior responsiveness, reduced input lag and control precision of BT ULL technology in various cloud-based games, including FPS titles, fighting games and street racing.

BT ULL technology delivers perfect performance in cloud gaming, aimed at competitive gamers who demand lightning-fast response times to excel in their games.

LG plans to implement a certification program for third-party game controllers in the near future to ensure that BT ULL-supported controllers will work well with LG webOS Smart TVs. Razer will be the first company to receive LG’s certification.

LG and MediaTek are jointly developing BT ULL technology for integration into MediaTek’s ‘MT7921’ Wi-Fi chipset. This chipset will also feature the efficient and reliable Wi-Fi 6 technology from MediaTek’s Filogic series.

The goal of these joint efforts is to enable owners of LG webOS smart TVs to enjoy online cloud gaming even more with improved response times and incredible realism.

The latest premium LG OLED TVs and LG QNED TVs, which support refresh rates of 120Hz or higher, are scheduled to be released in 2025 with BT ULL technology.

“LG is committed to consistently introducing the most advanced features designed to immerse gamers in their favorite titles and differentiate gaming experiences,” said Baik Seon-pill, head of product design at LG Home Entertainment Company . “As the LG webOS platform evolves, so will the features that make it the ultimate gaming platform for every type of gamer.”
