The CLOi ServeBot, with its four-door design and ample internal storage space, is capable of performing various delivery tasks, thus taking a large burden off the staff’s shoulders.
The introduction of the device further strengthens LG’s position in the competition for advanced AI robots and robot control solutions, and is in line with the company’s plans to accelerate the expansion of its B2B business, especially in the field of transportation and logistics services. The CLOi ServeBot was first launched in South Korea, but will soon be available in key markets in North America and Asia.
Thanks to its innovative and convenient design, CLOi ServeBot with a door design won the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award this year. The new model is equipped with four internal compartments, each capable of carrying up to 30 kg of weight. The robot’s spacious and safe loading space allows for the comfortable placement of up to 32 standard-sized coffee cups, while the position of the shelves can be easily adjusted according to the size of the objects or the load.
The LG CLOi ServeBot was developed to serve indoor catering units and healthcare institutions, and it moves between floors with the help of an elevator. Its six wheels, each with independent suspension, provide the device with excellent stability, so CLOi ServeBot can also deliver drinks on uneven surfaces without significant splashing. For the convenience of users, the robot’s doors open and close automatically during operation. The LG CLOi ServeBot can even tell what kind of delivery it has made, as it detects items taken out via cameras located in the interior compartments. Thanks to an artificial intelligence-based algorithm, the new model safely avoids obstacles, determines the optimal route to the destination and can coordinate and efficiently cooperate with up to 20 other CLOi ServeBots.
The 10.1-inch display on the front of the robot functions as a mobile advertising platform, and contents can be easily uploaded to the device using the LG CLOi Station or the CMS mobile application available via smartphone or the Internet. LG’s latest robot can accompany customers to a specific destination, and assist the visually impaired with voice commands. Users can also monitor the robot’s status in real time with the LG CLOi Station, which also offers convenient paging and scheduling functions.
“LG’s advanced service robot uses platform technologies including artificial intelligence and advanced communication and control to perform streamlined operations in hospitality and healthcare environments”
said Roh Kyu-chan, vice president and head of LG Business Solutions Company’s robot business.
“Using our skills and expertise in the field of robot solutions, we continue to develop the LG CLOi ServeBot models in order to serve different sectors with special needs.”
With years of experience in the robotics industry behind it, LG continues to offer versatile robotic solutions for various environments, including airports, hotels, hospitals and warehouses. The company is currently working on the development of a comprehensive solution package in order to efficiently manage the entire distribution process, from the delivery of robots to facilitating the delivery of ordered products.
