LG’s AI-inspired ‘FUTURE LIVING’ vision takes center stage at IFA 2024

From September 6 to 10, LG presented, at its booth at IFA 2024, its wide range of home solutions with artificial intelligence, opening a new chapter of smart living at home. On topic Experience, Affectionate Intelligence (AI) Homethe company unveiled its unique AI-inspired vision for future living.

Designed in collaboration with Korean sci-fi author Kim Cho-yeop, the booth featured various experience zones, created to demonstrate how the company’s artificial intelligence can be integrated into home life and upgrade lifestyles with smart and distinct ways.

Upon entering Hall 18 of Messe Berlin, visitors were greeted by the AI ​​Home Gate, a huge LED media wall that showed the journey of LG AI, from the birth of LG’s AI Agent, FURON, to how it communicates with the world and enriches everyday life.

At the booth, visitors had the opportunity to see what Affectionate Intelligence means and how it makes everyday life simpler and more comfortable. Divided into several distinct lifestyle spaces, LG’s booth showcased how natural conversations with the ThinQ ONthe Affectionate Intelligence Home Hub her LG, they can help manage every aspect of everyday life.

The first lifestyle space, “Second Youth Home”, introduced a new and more active lifestyle for retirees. The digital signage on the wall depicted how ThinQ ON adapts and takes care of home appliances depending on the user.

LG’s latest washing machine, announced at IFA 2024, uses AI DD technology to intelligently minimize water and energy use depending on the load. It also features Easy Control technology, which automatically selects cycles based on usage patterns and user preferences for maximum convenience.

The second lifestyle area, called “Smart Green Home”, presented the ideal residence for families who love the environment and energy saving. Among the many energy-saving solutions, LG’s AI-powered Energy Storage System (ESS) was introduced, which analyzes energy usage patterns and weather forecasts, adjusting its operation according to various conditions. Another point of reference was the Therma V R290 Monobloc air-to-water heat pump. With these devices connected to ThinQ ON – both in and out of the home – LG AI optimizes household energy use in real-time and lowers energy bills by intelligently managing the power consumption of each connected device.

The Affectionate Home area was designed for children and pets. It showcased the company’s Self-Driving AI Home Hub, which can freely move around the home and interact with children via chat. The unit combines voice, audio and image recognition to change its expression according to different emotions to respond appropriately to different situations. The unit can move from room to room and control connected and IoT devices, constantly making sure the environment is optimized for little ones.

Through generative AI, the Self-Driving AI Home Hub can develop stories based on images drawn by the user, ensuring a unique bedtime story every night.
