LG’s new, multi-functional lamp not only lights up, but also helps grow your plants.
LG has developed a new lamp that doubles as an indoor garden. The lamp, which will be presented at CES in January, serves as an adjustable plant growing light source for up to 20 plants placed on the tray, while also providing light in your room. The lamp offers two different lighting modes: daylight, which is directed downwards to help plants grow, and evening light, which is directed upward to brighten the room.
The light comes with a 1.5 gallon water tank and automatically dispenses the right amount of water and nutrients to the plants based on their number and species. LG is showing off another, more compact version at CES, which is a shorter, tabletop-style grow light, also lighting up a bunch of plants.
The devices are compatible with the LG ThinQ app, so you can adjust light settings and grow schedules even when you’re not at home.
This is not the first time that LG has entered the indoor gardening technology market. The company launched the LG Tiiun indoor plant grower in 2019, and later came out with much more compact versions. According to LG, the new lamp has a larger water storage capacity than its previous indoor gardening systems, but the product’s price or exact delivery date has not yet been announced.
