He fell from a third floor balcony
The 31-year-old artist died last month completely unexpectedly of severe brain injuries after falling from a third-floor balcony in a hotel in Argentina.
According to British media, the singer’s father, Jeff, transported his body back to Britain two weeks ago, while extensive forensic and police investigations were conducted into the circumstances of his death.
Payne had traveled to Argentina in September with his close friend and manager, Rogerio Nores, in order to renew his visa for his stay in the US, and also to attend the show of Niall Horan, also a former member of One Direction.
According to information, his funeral will take place in a close family circle with a few of his good friends present, while there will also be a vigil in his memory. His former companions on the music scene with One Direction (Harry Styles, Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson) are also expected to be there.
In a joint post, the aforementioned had mentioned, among other things, that they were “totally devastated” by Payne’s death. “In time and when we are all able to do so, we will say more,” they wrote and added: “For now, we will take our time to grieve and process the loss of our beloved brother. Our memories of him will be with us forever. At this time, our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans who adored him. We will miss him very much. Liam, we love you.”

Three arrests
It is noted that the Authorities in Argentina made three arrests. Specifically, Argentine prosecutors said that a person accompanying the artist – Nores – was charged with abandoning him, which contributed to his death. The same person is also accused of facilitating him to find drugs by supplying them.
A hotel employee and a third person are also accused of supplying drugs, but none of those arrested have been named, according to the BBC.
The Argentine authorities are investigating the events that took place in the life of the singer, a few days before he was killed at the CasaSur hotel.
Toxicology tests showed Payne had traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his system when he died, prosecutors said in a statement Thursday.
In their statement, prosecutors also ruled out suicide, saying: “The lack of reflex defense or self-preservation in the fall, together with other relevant data, allow us to conclude that Liam Payne was not fully conscious or in a state of marked decline or loss of consciousness at the time of the fall.”
However, “physical intervention by a third party” was also ruled out as a possibility.
