Light and simple dish: Bruschetta with garlic

Baked bread with garlic and garnished with fresh tomatoes – a perfect combination of ingredients. This dish is very easy to make, and is the right choice for a snack or breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette
  • 5 to 6 tomatoes
  • ¼ cup basil leaves
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of vinegar
  • 2 spoons of olive oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¾ cup garlic spread

Preparation:

Heat the oven to 230ºC. Cut off the end of the tomatoes and cut them in half lengthwise. If you want, you can remove the seeds from them with a spoon. Finely chop the tomatoes and add to a large bowl.

Roll up the basil leaves and cut crosswise into thin strips. Add the basil to the bowl with the tomatoes, along with the garlic, vinegar and olive oil. Sprinkle liberally with salt and a little ground black pepper. Let it rest while you prepare the garlic bread.

Cut the baguette in half lengthwise. If your baguette is long, cut it into four pieces. Spread the garlic spread evenly on each half and place the bread on a large baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the edges are golden and crispy.

Place the bruschetta mixture on the bread and garnish with additional fresh basil and toppings of your choice. Cut diagonally into slices and serve warm.
