Star Manolo Blahnik presented a limited edition of the iconic Hangisi shoes at the Preciosa Flagship Store. What makes them special?
The iconic Hangisi shoes are somewhat unconventional. Manolo Blahnik will especially please Czech admirers of fashionable shoes, which are a worldwide concept and desired by almost every woman. When designing this collection, Blahnik was inspired by the Czech Republic itself, where he has his roots and a piece of his heart belongs to us. If something extra is added to shoes with such a famous name as Manolo Blahnik in the form of the best lace in the world, something special is created – Hangisi shoes.
Twenty pairs of slippers studded with dozens of Preciosa crystals are for sale. In September, the entire Manolo Blahnik team will come to Prague and help them find the ideal owner who will customize the shoes. And if you are not one of the lucky owners of one of the twenty pairs, don’t despair. You can indulge your soul and get inspiration anyway, and for free.
“Working with hand-picked Czech lace and Preciosa crystals made me realize again how proud I am of my Czech roots,” described Manolo Blahnik. *”I hope that the wearers of this limited Hangisi collection will feel as special as I did creating it,” added Manolo Blahnik.

The basis of Czech Hangisi slippers in dark turquoise color is extremely fine Czech lace, which was created by lacemaker Věra Holomečková from the Higher Vocational School of Textile Crafts, who has been involved in lacemaking all her life and teaches lace both in the Czech Republic and in Blahnik’s native Spain, and art school of textile crafts in Prague. The specific lace pattern was chosen by Blahnik personally. During his selection, he went through more than two thousand types of lace. He thus gave birth to a new type of slipper made of blue lace, which he made for the very first time. The collaboration between the schools, Preciosa and the designer created completely unique shoes that found inspiration in traditional Czech crafts. Also for the rest of the pairs from the limited collection, the best lacemaker waits.
“Manolo Blahnik pays tribute to his Czech roots in his designs. He always emphasizes the highest quality and perfect craftsmanship. The connection with Preciosa was therefore completely natural”added Karel Páral, director of business development and marketing at Preciosa Components.
