Lisbon Family Health Unit reduces opening hours due to lack of doctors

Due to a lack of doctors, from November onwards the Areeiro Family Health Unit (USF), in Lisbon, will operate from 8am to 6pm and will not schedule appointments for adults.

UBS indicates, in a statement, that there will be openings for consultation on the same day for those who have a family doctor and for vulnerable or at-risk groups, such as pregnant women, children and diabetics.

In a note to users, the unit coordinator explains that the situation is due to the prolonged absence of two doctors and, in the future, a third.

Francisco Carvalho Sampaio also indicates that he has already asked ULS São José to replace the absent doctors, but has so far received no response.

Currently, the USF of Areeiro operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
