The Ministry of Health updated the list of drugs that can affect the ability to drive, and the order was published in the Official Gazette.
The list includes new drugs such as Tramadol, Tramadol in combination with Paracetamol, and pills for sleeping disorders. They contain narcotic and psychotropic substances, which can cause a positive result in rapid drug tests carried out by traffic police.
The Ministry of Health recently added several new drugs to the list of drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances, including Tramadol, combinations of Tramadol and Dexketoprofen, Tramadol-Paracetamol, as well as drugs for sleep disorders such as Gerodorm, Imovane and Sonlax.

It should be noted that some drivers who use these drugs for acute or chronic conditions can avoid the suspension of their driver’s license if they present the medical prescription for the respective treatment to the control.
That is why it is essential that these drugs are administered only with a doctor’s prescription, not “over the counter” from the pharmacy.
“If you are stopped by the police and the drug test is positive, the doctor’s prescription can help you keep your license,” explains Dr. Sorin Flaviu Lesnic, specialist in forensic medicine, for HotNews.
