LIVE – Legislative elections: with the NFP in a deadlock, “our joy has turned into shame”, says Marine Tondelier –

NFP Blockade: ““Our joy has turned into shame,” says the Ecologist. Marine Tondelier. Jean-Baptiste’s show on France 2 has never been so aptly named. Invited this Wednesday on the set of Telematin, Marine Tondelier has come out with her “four truths” to the socialists and the rebels, unable to agree on a potential prime minister. “We raised a lot of hope. That hope turned into anger. Our joy turned into shame. I’m like the French, I’m like the voters. The Greens are like you. They look at this thing and they say: “But what is this story?” And we spend hours and hours trying to find solutions. There, there is no more negotiating table, it must be said.” Exasperated, she explains that “It’s been a little longer than Monday” that negotiations have come to a standstill. She points out the fact that“with the communists, we have not put an exclusivity on any name”, “we are blocking nothing”. With the communist Fabien Roussel, “The main thing that unites us is the hope that we have created.” Continuing her momentum, Martine Tondelier says: “On arriving again, I met someone’s gaze at the entrance to this channel. I looked away because I can no longer look people in the face (…). I feel an emotion, a disappointment, an anger.” And to warn: “We say blah blah blah Huguette Bello, blah blah blah Laurence Tubiana, but we’re actually going to end up with Laurent Wauquiez.” For the head of the Ecologists, it “There needs to be an intersection between the socialists and the rebels,” in full “leadership war.” With a touch of optimism, despite everything: “Of course (this intersection) exists, otherwise we would not have succeeded in creating a common program, in campaigning together.” And to warn: “Every hour, every minute of ridicule that we offer (…), we are manufacturing RN votes and there will be no point in coming to get me with my green jacket in 2027 between the two rounds to say “help, we need a republican front”. (…) We cannot raise hope and disappoint so much.”
