Audits by the Independent Public Revenue Authority to curb fuel smuggling and adulteration continue. In particular, customs auditors, following the utilization of information, proceeded to seal a gas station in the Argyroupoli area for two years.
From the control of the samples carried out by the Chemical Service of AADE, it was found that the sample of 95 octane unleaded petrol is 85% adulterated, with a mixture of light petroleum oils containing methanol and ethanol.
After the confirmation of the forgery by the Chemical Service, inspectors of the 4th Customs of Piraeus and the Athens Customs, with the assistance of a six-member armed team of the OPKE of the Hellenic Police, proceeded to seal the facility.
In addition to the administrative fines that will be imposed, the audit continues, while at the same time, the procedures for publishing the company’s information on the AADE website were initiated.
