Police in London cordoned off Westminster Bridge after a man was stabbed in front of horrified tourists just yards from Parliament.
The Metropolitan Police told MailOnline they were dealing with a stabbing, which was an “isolated incident” and was “not being treated as terrorism”.
Officers were called to reports of a fight on Westminster Bridge at around 10.45am. today and found a man suffering from a stab wound. The man was taken to the hospital where it was determined that his injury is serious.
One X user wrote online: “Westminster Bridge closed in both directions. Hundreds of police at the scene with the bridge blocked. What’s going on?’
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and another on suspicion of rape.
Two of those arrested are being treated in hospital for minor facial injuries, police said.
The road is closed and bus routes are being diverted. The police have invited citizens to contact them if they have any information related to the incident.
