“Long live the Constitution, long live the resistance”

During the Fratelli d’Italia remembrance ceremony in front of the Acca Larentia headquarters, a passer-by approached shouting “Long live the Constitution, long live the Resistance!”. He was stopped and identified by the police.

A boy approached the headquarters of Acca Larentia during the visit and the laying of flowers by a delegation of Brothers of Italy, and shouted: “Long live the Constitution, long live the Resistance!”. Then he immediately walked away. Pursued by the police, he was identified. Among others, the vice president of the Chamber Fabio Rampelli and the deputies Federico Mollicone and Andrea De Priamo were present.

As he walked away he told journalists: “Instead of arresting the demonstrators for apologizing for fascism, they identify those who invoke the Constitution. It is very right to commemorate the victims of the armed political struggle but it is unacceptable that this becomes Predappio, a gathering of neo-fascists, of people giving the Roman salute. Unacceptable for a country that has suffered fascism and Nazism. Maybe someone hasn’t studied“.

The gesture clarified that it was absolutely improvised and spontaneous, and the protester clarified that he was not part of any organized group. At 6.00 pm the “present” is expected, when hundreds of neo-fascists from all over Italy will give the Roman salute in memory of Franco Bigonzetti, Francesco Ciavatta and Stefano Ricchioni, the three young militants of the Youth Front killed on 7 January 1978 outside the headquarters of the Social Movement. A demonstration on January 7th which in recent years has raised much controversy and requests to be banned by centre-left parties.
