Look, he’s rolling his eyes even now, Novak pointed at his wife. The Djokovics are arguing because of the children, they were banned – Tennis

During the Davis Cup, in which he defends the colors of his native Serbia, Novak Djokovic also talked about his private life. He admitted that the family idyll is disrupted by exchanges of views with his wife Jelena, while the reason is a different view on raising their children. At least in one thing.

Novak and Jelena have been together since high school, they got married in 2014. They have two children together, nine-year-old Štefan and seven-year-old Tara.

Before the Davis Cup match, in which he literally swept the Greek Xilas off the court in 45 minutes 6-0, 6-1, the Serb declared that his children were “banned” from owning a mobile phone, while their classmates already had them.

Mrs. Djokovic, however, has a different opinion on the matter, and lately there has often been an exchange of opinions between the two parents.

“My children still don’t have phones, my wife and I are arguing about it,” he told Serbian Blic. The tennis player remains adamant despite the children at home complaining that “everyone at school has them but us”.

According to the Olympic champion from Paris, you don’t always have to go with the crowd. “It’s not easy, but it has its meaning on another level. When everyone is doing the same thing, the crowd behaves like that, you have to go with it.

Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. I think this is where we differ from others, because we are stubborn and active,” he explained his approach to education.

Novak already indicated during this year’s Wimbledon that he is closer to a traditional education. He emphasized that it is important for him that his children are engaged in movement instead of their phones.

“Out of two parents, I’m the one responsible for their exercise, sports, healthy lifestyle,” he said, pointing to his wife standing nearby with a laugh.

“Look, even now they roll their eyes when I talk about it. I keep trying to remind them how important exercise and sports are.

Whether it’s tennis or anything else, you have to be active, go out. I try to take them out with me every day. Even if I have a match, I want them there with me.”
