Lots of arrivals today, the new Titanium Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport arrived, along with the Xiaomi Band 9 and Buds 5

Every time the “demon” CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, tries to impress on stage, and today’s annual event was no exception. The company introduced new foldable models and a series of new wearable devices – a premium sports watch, a cheaper model, a fitness tracker and TWS headphones.

Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport

This is Xiaomi’s new premium proposal in the smart watch market for this year with a price of €250. It has a titanium body and sapphire glass. Comes with a choice of four straps: fluoroelastomer, silicone, braided, titanium Milanese.

For sports activities, the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport is considered suitable and can dive up to 40 meters (130 feet); has been tested by PADI and has received EN13319 diving certification. Xiaomi has also partnered with watchmaker Suunto for its sports tracking algorithms (e.g. measuring lactic acid threshold).

Officially, it is reported that for outdoor training, it supports five GNSS constellations with dual-band reception. It also has offline maps capability and you can leave your phone at home thanks to e.g.

Underneath the sapphire glass surface is a 1.43” OLED display with a maximum brightness of 2,200 nits for outdoor readability. Xiaomi managed to fit a surprisingly large 586mAh battery inside (the Watch S3 has a 486mAh battery) and it’s advertised as providing up to 15 days of battery life!

The heart rate and blood-oxygen sensor on the back is also protected by sapphire glass. Xiaomi claims the sensor succeeds 97.2% accuracy. An interesting feature is that the built-in NFC can act as your car key (only works on selected vehicles).

Yes, the Xiaomi Band 9 has also just been launched

If the watch does not suit you, you can see the Xiaomi Band 9 starting at CNY 250 for the base model ($35); the NFC version is priced at CNY 300 ($42). We have a metal body, but there is also a special version made of ceramic material for CNY 350 ($48).

The band comes in four colors – pink, black, white and blue – and you can customize the look with quick-change straps.

Here it makes a terrible impression the battery life of the Xiaomi Band 9 which reaches up to 21 days, with Always On Display enabled it should last up to 9 days. It has a linear motor and 20 vibration modes to choose from.

Xiaomi says it has improved the accuracy of the heart rate sensor by 16% compared to the previous generation. It also collaborated with Peking University Third Hospital to develop better detection of breathing problems while you sleep. And if you prefer the NFC version, the device can also function as a car key.

Xiaomi Buds 5 bring better sound

The Xiaomi Buds 5 use a “semi-in-ear” design, and the company says you can barely feel them in your ear while wearing them. Each bud weighs only 4.2g, but can last 6.5 hours at a time (total listening time with the case is 39 hours).

These headphones support Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless audio codec (up to 2.1 Mbps) and have been tuned by the Harman AudioEFX team. There is Active Noise Cancellation and AI noise reduction for calls with 3 microphones. There’s also surround sound and multi-point connectivity.

Finally, there’s an IP54 rating, so they’re resistant to sweat and rain. The Xiaomi Buds 5 costs CNY 700 ($97/€89/₹8,000).
