An ex-miss who gained a reputation as a mountaineer Lotta Hintsan there is a large scar on the forehead.

In October 2023, Lotta was hiking towards the base camp in Nepal in the Himalayan mountains when an accident happened.

– I hit my head quite badly in a strange accident that could practically have happened on the sidewalk. There were great people around me, so they helped me in first aid, so I was able to hike 13 km back to the village with the power of adrenaline, and then to the nearest small hospital in Chame to clean and sew the wound, Lotta told about what happened on social media.

He tells about the scar left on his forehead in Hymy magazine, printed in January:

– That’s how it will always be, but it doesn’t matter, Lotta laughs.

– In total, it took 24 hours before he got to the hospital. All that time, I lived in uncertainty as to whether someone had a bad brain injury or bleeding in the head, he tells Hymy magazine.

Lotta describes the situation as feeling absolutely terrible and was vomiting and dizzy all the time. Still, he somehow managed to descend 13 kilometers of mountain road.

– That’s what you get when you survive a situation as if by grace, Lotta says in the printed Hymy magazine.

Cerebral palsy

– There will still be days when you notice challenges with short-term memory and producing speech is more difficult than normal.

You can read the whole thing in Hymy’s print magazine.

“You learn all that”

After the incident, Lotta told about the situation on social media:

– You learn all that in 24 hours, when you get the right treatment after an accident, Lotta says on Instagram.

– I firmly believe that things make sense in the end. That whatever happens in life has a purpose. This expedition turned out to be the shortest expedition of my life: I injured myself on the first day of the base camp hike in an accident where I fell, hit my head on a metal bridge and got a concussion.

He says that he has participated in rescue missions before, but this is the first time that he himself has been injured.

– I learned so much about myself from the moment I picked myself up from the ground with blood streaming down my face and my head spinning, to the moment I got to the hospital in Kathmandu and the wound was properly treated and stitched up.

He says that he has learned how to react in such a situation, both physically and mentally.

– Now I know how it feels to stagger 13km back to civilization, how it feels to fight against the physical sensations of fainting, vomiting and keep my legs moving.
