Lotte Home Shopping (CEO Kim Jae-gyeom) announced that on the 12th, it held an awards ceremony for the ‘9th Small and Medium-sized/Individual PP Production and Equipment Support Competition’ co-hosted with the Korean Society for Journalism and Communication Studies at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.

The awards ceremony held that day was attended by Lotte Home Shopping Marketing Division Director Lee Dong-gyu, Korea Journalism and Communication Association President Park Jong-min, Vice President Hong Won-sik, and other related officials. As a result of the evaluation, a total of 160 million won in production support funds and 40 million won in equipment support funds were awarded to 6 small and medium-sized and individual PPs, including YM Media Co., Ltd., which was selected as the best work.

Lotte Home Shopping has been the only company in the industry to implement the ‘Small and Medium Individual PP Production Support Competition’ since 2017 in order to contribute to the development of the broadcasting production industry by fostering small and medium-sized individual PPs.

The judging was conducted by a judging committee comprised of experts in the relevant fields. The award-winning works were selected considering the program’s ▲public interest, ▲creativity, ▲production ability, ▲completeness, and ▲appropriateness of production cost composition. A total of four winning works were selected, including “After-hours Volunteer Group (Foreign Volunteer Group to the Countryside)” (1st place, prize money of 60 million won) by YM Media, which captures the story of multicultural people of various nationalities and cultures volunteering in a rural village; “I Like the Sea Breeze” (2nd place, prize money of 40 million won) by New Polaris, which tells the story of young fishermen who breathe new life into a fishing village; “Infertility, a Record of Earnest Hope” (3rd place, prize money of 30 million won) by Korea Health and Medical Broadcasting; and “Heroes of Handball” (3rd place, prize money of 30 million won) by Max Sports TV. In addition, Playrun Media and Jinjung were each awarded 20 million won in equipment support for filming and editing.
