Luka Marini scored his first point for Honda

Three drivers failed to meet the minimum front tire pressure in the race for the German Grand Prix.

Augusto Fernandes, Joan Zarco and Stefan Bradl were penalized 16 seconds after the race for not meeting the minimum tire pressure at Sunday’s race at the Zachsenring.

Considering their final positions, this penalty only affected Fernandes, who was left without 2 points.

On the other hand, Luka Marini thus reached his first point as a Repsol Honda rider, winning 15th place.

The Italian lost 15th place at the finish line by just 0.037 seconds to LCR Honda’s Takaki Nakagami. Nakagami now gets an extra point, as he is promoted to 14th place.

The revised tire pressure rules for 2024 mean that drivers must now stay above the lower front tire minimum of 1.8 bar (instead of 1.88) for 60% (instead of 50%) of the main race and 30% of the sprint.

The penalty for not meeting this minimum in the main race will be a penalty of 16 seconds after the race or a penalty of 8 seconds for the sprint/short race.
