Minsk denies that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko apologized to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the start of the full offensive. As they say, they have nothing to apologize for.

American computer scientist Lex Friedman hosted the Ukrainian president in his latest podcast, which otherwise boasts a large worldwide audience Volodymyr Zelensky. In the interview, the latter surprised, among other things, by stating that on the second or third day after the start of the Russian offensive in February 2022, the Belarusian president called him by phone Alexander Lukashenko and apologized to him for the rockets fired by Russian forces from Belarusian territory over Ukraine. His statements were sharply rejected today by the spokeswoman of the Belarusian president Natalia Esimont. She confirmed, however, that the telephone conversation took place, but only because “the emotional reaction of Lukashenka’s youngest son Nikolay, who had Zelensky’s phone number saved in his phone.” According to her, Lukashenko was primarily warned by Zelensky that he was “conflict broke out on the territory of Ukraine” and that it will “More than anyone else, he (op. Zelenski) is responsible for people’s deaths.” She also emphasized that Lukashenko did not apologize to Zelensky in any way, namely from “for the simple reason that we have nothing to apologize for.”
