Lukashenko explained why he chopped firewood before the EAEU summit

He said he “did a good job.”

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on the chopping of wood in the Leningrad region before an important meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (EAEC).

A photo of the Belarusian leader with an ax was published by the Telegram channel “Pul First”. Later, Lukashenko, in a brief interview with reporters, explained his unusual actions before the summit on the territory of the Igora all-season resort.

According to him, he brought alpine skiing with him to Russia, but was unable to ski because of the thaw. “Therefore, there was an alternative,” the Belarusian president pointed out. He said that the main shareholder of Bank Rossiya and the owner of most of the objects in the Igora complex, Yuri Kovalchuk, brought a whole trailer of firewood. “I worked hard today. Every morning I have to work,” Lukashenko quotes “Belta”.

He also answered a question from journalists about how many Oreshnik missile systems his country will receive. “I think it’s a dozen for now, and then we’ll see. If the Russians want to accommodate more of them, we will accommodate more of them,” Lukashenko said.

The President of Belarus arrived in St. Petersburg on December 25.

Recently, Lukashenko confirmed the presence of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
