President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said today that the Belarusian opposition abroad is looking for more money to smear Belarus, but that, as he stated, at the moment the West is ready to provide money only for something more serious, such as armed action in that country.

– The State Department, the Poles, the EU ask them ‘for what’? They say, we will slander Belarus in the mass media. They were told, ‘You have already done it. We can no longer pay you for that, only for armed action on the territory of Belarus – said Lukashenko during a meeting on current issues of internal politics and preparations for the election campaign, reports BelTA.

Lukashenko warned that the Belarusian authorities know about the opposition’s plans for a potential invasion.

– I already said: we are waiting. There is no need to warn us where you will be coming from. We are very aware of that – said the Belarusian president.

He said that the people who plan to implement it will have to explain their policy to the Belarusian people.

– If you want the people to understand what you want, let alone support you – said Lukashenko, addressing his political opponents.

According to his words, the next presidential elections should complete the formation of the renewed political system of the country.

Lukashenko did not specify the date of the presidential elections, noting that, according to the country’s Constitution, those elections must be held no later than July 20, 2025.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Parliament and the Chief of the President’s Cabinet, the State Secretary of the Security Council, the presidents of the Central Election Commission and the KGB.
