Luke Littler makes announcement after title win

Luke Littler has had a meteoric rise in darts. But the teenager is not satisfied yet – quite the opposite.

“This time last year I was still playing on the Development Tour. My name was mentioned, but at the World Championship everyone knew who I was,” Littler was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after his triumph at the World Series of Darts Finals.

“The Nuke” sensationally reached the final of the Darts World Championship in the legendary Alexandra Palace on his debut at the age of 16. An achievement that was no coincidence.

Littler is having a strong season on the PDC tour. The Englishman has won the Premier League and now the World Series of Darts Finals.

Littler wants even more. “I will continue to build on this and win even more. There is a full program ahead and I am ready for it,” assured the darts teenager.

The hot phase of the darts season is approaching

With the World Grand Prix and the European Championship, two important major tournaments are on the PDC calendar in October. The Grand Slam of Darts and the Players Championship Finals will be held in November, before the Darts World Championship at “Ally Pally” starts again in mid-December.

Littler seems ready for the challenges ahead. The 17-year-old is already ranked 22nd in the darts world rankings – ahead of legends such as Gary Anderson (23rd) and Raymond van Barneveld (28th).

Littler will continue to climb in the coming months. After all, the PDC Order of Merit is a money ranking that includes the prize money won in ranking tournaments over the last 24 months. Since he will be playing his first full season with the professional association in 2024, Littler will be able to add up prize money in 2025.

The World Series of Darts Finals was not a ranking tournament, but Littler will still be happy about the £80,000 (around €95,000) prize money.
