This debut marks an important step for the brand, which continues to expand its presence globally. The Z02 to hit Europe in Octoberanticipating the official presentation in China, scheduled for November Guangzhou Auto Show. This launch is a statement of intent by Lynk & Cowhich aims to conquer the premium electric compact segment with a car with a bold design and advanced technical features.
What we know about the Lynk & Co Z02
The technological heart of the Z02 is based on the Geely’s SEA2 platforma versatile architecture optimised for compact-sized vehicles. This platform, shared with the Zeekr Xpositions the Z02 as a direct rival in the premium electric car market, offering high performance and superior build quality. Dimensions of the Z02 are impressive for its category, with a length of 4460 mm, a width of 1845 mm and a height of 1573 mm. The wheelbase of 2755 mm guarantees superior space and comfort, offering a slight dimensional superiority compared to its cousin Zeekr X.
At launch, the Lynk & Co Z02 will be available with a Single 250kW electric motor (340 HP), a choice that emphasizes high performance without compromising the simplicity of configuration. This power makes it slightly more powerful than the single-engine Zeekr X, but, to maintain the uniqueness of the brand, there are no dual-motor versions. This product strategy aligns with Lynk & Co’s philosophy of simplifying the offer while maintaining few optional extras, as already seen with the restyling of the Lynk & Co 01.
Change the battery
The Z02 also stands out for the choice of a lithium iron phosphate batterya different option from the 66 kWh NCM battery used by the Zeekr X. This detail not only underscores the Z02’s distinct identity, but could also offer advantages in terms of durability and safety, although precise specifications on battery capacity and range remain to be revealed.
Aesthetically, the Lynk & Co Z02 incorporates the latest styling elements of the Zeekr-Lynk & Co groupwith a modern and distinctive design. The front features a more squared muzzle, slim LED headlights and a clean, minimalist grille. The main headlights are positioned low, integrated into the lower grille, giving it an aggressive yet elegant look. In profile, the car adopts a coupé silhouette, with details such as flush door handles and a dynamically cut rear window. The back of the Z02 It is characterised by sporty lines and thin light clusters that frame the rear window, creating a sophisticated and modern look.
