The Apple M4 Max can only play STALKER 2 at very low details and at a resolution of 900p. At this setting, it only reaches 30 to 40 frames per second. Youtuber Denis Gladkikh posted gameplay on a MacBook Pro on his channel. Unfortunately, the footage doesn’t show if the game was run with upscaling to give a higher FPS.
STALKER 2 is quite successful on the market and has already sold a million copies. However, it is far from delivering a top-notch gaming experience, even with the most powerful hardware. For the M4 Max powering an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, the results aren’t that bad. However, given the price tag, this machine is not really worth it in terms of utility.
However, the game does not run natively on the M4 Max, so you have to take into account emulation, which must be present.

In short, Apple’s fastest SoC can’t even manage 40 FPS at native 1080p resolution, which is disappointing considering the rather high price tag.
