macOS Sequoia 15.1 is now available with Apple Intelligence

Apple may have been a little late, but it’s finally released the next big update for the Mac: macOS Sequoia 15.1. This brings the first wave of new Apple Intelligence features to the Mac, as well as some non-AI upgrades.

  • Intelligent Breakthrough & Silence in Focus : Take advantage of the existing focus functions, but with AI that allows only important notifications.

Compatibility and requirements

macOS 15.1 is available for all Macs that could run macOS Sequoia. It is available in “System Settings” from the “Software Update” section.

Key features, including Apple Intelligence, are only available for Macs with an M1 or later chip (eg M2, M3, M4). Intel models will get a more fruitless update.

Apple Intelligence features are marked as beta by Apple, and gaining access to them requires joining a waiting list first.
