“Made of Us” – The EU – Western Balkans journey starts again

Program WeBalkans (webalkans.eu) begins the second edition of the “Made of Us” campaign, which will take place from October 23 to 31, 2024.

This dynamic initiative will take 12 influencers from the EU and the Western Balkans on an exciting journey through six EU member states. Following the previous edition of this journey which took place in the Western Balkans, this year’s campaign will take the audience to EU member states, which have joined as part of the latest rounds of EU enlargement, to show the tangible benefits that EU membership has brought them. Following the journey through the eyes and stories of influencers, viewers will learn how today’s young people can inspire similar transformations in the Western Balkans.

Through their content, influencers will try to deepen understanding and enthusiasm for EU integration among the youth and citizens of the Western Balkans, inspired by recent progress in EU integration and the transformative EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

At the initial meeting in Brussels, the influencers were welcomed by Valentina Superti, director for the Western Balkans from the European Commission – Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR):

„With the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, we see opportunities opening up everywhere. It’s not just about politics – it’s about real economic, digital and educational opportunities that are transforming the Western Balkans“, said Superti.

The influencers also sent a clear message about their mission on the trip:

„We, the Blue Team, are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the strong connection between the Western Balkans and the European Union. We are excited to share the spirit of our united team with our followers. Filled with passion and enthusiasm, we are confident that we will have a fantastic time and tell interesting stories through this competitive journey. Go Blue Team!“

Blue team consists of Floreta Lelav Hajradai from Italy, Luka Bojanović from Montenegro, Tomislav Pancirov from Croatia, Jelena Spendžarska from North Macedonia, Juš Čop from Slovenia and Agnesa Sejdiu from Kosovo. They will travel through Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.

“The Yellow Team is ready to take this journey by storm, bringing unassailable energy, creativity and passion to every challenge of the ‘Made by Us’ journey.” We are not here to just participate, but to lead, innovate and leave our mark,” said the Yellow Team.

The yellow team consists of Tamas Majer from Hungary, Xhorxhina Roci from Albania, Laura Falquez from Austria, Luka Alerić from Serbia, Martin Jakubis from Slovakia and Farah Hadžiabdić from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and will visit Hungary, Slovakia and Austria.

Teams will participate in a series of interactive challenges and tasks that reflect key EU values ​​such as unity and cooperation.
