Madonna’s Vintage Jaguar Goes Up for Auction

The celebrity cars have always been a very interesting “booty” for enthusiasts and collectors around the world. One of the probably most iconic models seen this year will go up for auction on Tuesday 9 October at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, UK.

H&H Classics, in fact, will open the offers for a Jaguar Mark X 4.2 from 1967, owned by the singer and star Madonna. Here are all the details

For the son

According to what can be read on the auction house’s website, the Queen of Popwhich does not have right need no introduction, bought the elegant English sedan in 2021 mainly for the son Rocco Ritchienow 23 years old.

The model has been seen around the world over the years Londra with the car in question, used as a daily means of transportation while doing “practice” in the fashion world.

A very special car

The Jaguar Mark X 4.2 in question is certainly no ordinary car. Originally designed for the Nord America – and popular with diplomats and Hollywood stars – the Mark X was known as the ideal car for those seeking the luxury of a Rolls-Royce at half the price.

On a mechanical level it was equipped with interesting innovations for the time, such as for example the independent rear suspension and a top speed of 120 miles per hour (194 km/h), achieved thanks to the 4.2-litre naturally aspirated 8-cylinder engine positioned under the hood.

Lucas Gomersall, specialist at H&H Classics, commented: “It’s incredible to be selling a Jaguar that has such a close connection to Madonna,” he said, adding that fans and collectors alike are sure to be thrilled by the sale.

While the Madonna connection is certainly a highlight, Gomersall stressed that this Jaguar is special in itself, being a rare 4.2-litre model that was only in production for a couple of years.
